Syracuse, N.Y. — The Syracuse football team takes on the No. 6 Miami Hurricanes at 3:30 p.m., Saturday in the JMA Wireless Dome.

Allen hurdles another Miami defender and it’s a Syracuse first down with less than three minutes to go in the game.
It’s a LeQuint Allen drive. The junior gets another first down ahead of the two-minute timeout.
An offsides penaltyb gives the Orange a first down and moves it closer to pulling off the upset.
Pena picks up a first down on a carry to ice the win.

Miami starts the drive with a false start.
The Orange defense forces another third down and Miami converts.
The Hurricanes are in the red zone but faced with another third down.
Miami gets the first down tahnks to a defensive pass interference.
Grant nearly intercepts Ward’s pass at the goal line after the ball is deflected. An unsportsmanlike penalty on Miami backs the Hurricanes up to Syracuse’s 23.
On third down, Marlowe Wax takes down Ward and Miami’s field goal unit comes on the field.
We have our first field goal of the game. Andres Borregales’ 27-yard field goal is good.

Meeks’ big day continues. He hauls in a 29-yard catch to give the Orange a first down from Miami’s 22-yard line.
On third down, McCord looks for Meeks again. The pass falls incomplete, but Miami is called for pass interenece to give SU a first-and-goal.
Allen finds the end zone for the second time. This one is a three-yard touchdown run to put Syracuse ahead.

The Orange defense comes up big again and gets a stop on third-and-six, but a defensive holding call gives Miami a first down.
Ward finds Restrepo for another big gain. This one is for 40 yards and sets the Hurricanes up at Syracuse’s two-yard line.
Martinez scores on a two-yard run and the game is tied.

The Hurricanes waste no time on offense ripping off a 29-yard from Damien Martinez on the first play of the drive.
Barron goes down again on defense, and again he walks off under his own power.
Devin Grant recovers a fumble from Restrepo and takes it back 56 yards for a touchdown to give the Orange its first lead of the game.

The Orange convert on third down with a 25-yard reception by Gadsden II to move to the 28-yard line.
Willis gets a gain of 11 but fumbles and Miami recovers at the 17-yard line.

Miami breaks off a huge run to get into the red zone, but a holding call negates the 55-yard gain and brings up second-and-15.
Fadil Diggs meets Ward in the backfield for Syracuse’s first sack of the game to force a third-and-long.
Ward’s pass is incomplete on third down and Miami punts it away.

McCord is sacked for a loss of eight on the first play of the drive.
The sack is made up for on the next play when McCord hits Meeks for a 33-yard gain and a first down.
Meeks is up to 72 receiving yards.
Allen hurdles a Miami defender on his way to another Syracuse first down and moves the Orange into the red zone.
Meeks has his second touchdown reception of the game on a nine-yard pass from McCord.

Ward quiets the crowd on the first play with a 20-yard completion to Restrepo.
A 17-yard scramble from Ward moves Miami into Syracuse territory.
Arroyo continues to find openings in the middle of the Syracuse defense. This time Ward finds him to set up fist-and-goal from the six-yard line.
Two-yard touchdown run from Fletcher Jr. puts Miami back up by a score.

McCord and Pena connect for a huge gain on the first half of the drive. The 50-yard play gives SU the ball at Miami’s 25.
On the next play, McCord finds Pena again. This one is a 25-yard touchdown pass that ties the game.
Pena has 115 yards on five catches.
The Miami offense was as advertised early in the game scoring 21 unanswered points to put the Orange on its heels.
Miami tallied 254 yards in the first half and looked to be in the driver’s seat, but Syracuse responded in a big way.
After going down three scores, the Orange surged back with two of its own to keep the game within one possession heading into the locker room.
The defense at the end of the first half was most promising for Syracuse.
After surrendering three scores and being unable to get off the field on third down, the Orange forced two punts to end the half and give its offense a chance to keep things close.
Syracuse’s offense was led by Kyle McCord who threw for 156 yards and a touchdown in the first half to become the school’s first quarterback to eclipse 4,000 passing yards and become the school’s all-time leader in single-season passing touchdowns.
Cam Ward dazzled for Miami with 184 passing yards and two touchdown passes in te first half for the Hurricanes.

Ward evades pressure again and finds his receiver, but a holding call negates the gain.
Miami kneels to end the half.
1:50 remaining: Syracuse drive starts at own 15-yard line
McCord finds Meeks for a first down. Orange has the ball at its 31-yard line.
The play clock nears zero and Syracuse is forced to take a timeout with 38 seconds left in the half with the ball at its own 36.
The offense can’t get going on the drive and punts it away.

Miami makes its way into Syracuse territory, but the Syracuse defense forces a third down for the second consecutive drive.
Duce Chestnut breaks up a pass from Ward to force another punt from the Hurricanes.

After a few big gains from Allen, Syracuse is back in Miami territory.
Defensive holding on third-and-seven from Miami’s 40-yard line gives the Orange a first down.
Back-to-back runs from Yasin Willis and a QB sneak from McCord give Syracuse another first down on the drive.
McCord hits Meeks in the end zone for a nine-yard touchdown pass and McCord is the new Syracuse single-season passing touchdown leader.

Barron gets in the backfield to disrupt a run play and bring up second-and-11.
The Syracuse defense gets its first stop on third down with 9:32 left in the half.
Miami punts it away and Allen call for the fair catch.

The Orange offense is clicking on this drive taking just four plays to reach Miami’s eight-yard line.
LeQuint Allen keeps his balance to find his way to the end zone for an eight-yard touchdown run.
McCord became the first Syracuse to pass for over 4,000 yards in a single season on the drive.

Third-and-goal from the two-yard line, Ward finds a wide-open Elijah Arroyo for a touchdown.
Miami went 94 yards on eight plays.

1:35 remaining: Miami drive starts at own six-yard line
Ward finds George for a 40-yard gain followed by a 19-yard gain to set Miami up at Syracuse’s 31-yard line.
3:43 remaining: Syracuse drive starts at own 25-yard line
McCord gets sacked on the first play of the drive to make it second-and-18 from the. 17-yard line.
On third down, McCord tries to escape pressure but fumbles. He recovers but doesn’t get the first down.
Syracuse punts it away and pins Miami at its own six-yard line.

6:47 remaining: Miami drive starts at own 37-yard line
Miami picks up right where it left off. Two plays into the new drive and the Hurricanes are at Syracuse’s 28-yard line.
Justin Barron goes down but walks off under his own power.
Barron is back out on the field.
The Hurricanes extend their lead on a 16-yard pass from Ward to Xavier Restrepo.

Kyle McCord finds Oronde Gadsden II on the first play for an 11-yard gain and a first down.
On third down, McCord hits Trebor Pena for another first down. Syracuse is in Minai territory.
McCord finds Pena again for what would have been a 41-yard touchdown, but an illegal formation penalty takes points off the board for the Orange.
Syracuse goes for it on fourth-and-two from Miami’s 37-yard line. McCord’s pass to Jackson Meeks is broken up.

Cam Ward escapes the pocket and hits Jacolby George for a 19-yard gain on third-and-four.
The Hurricanes are moving the ball with relative ease now picking up four more first downs on the drive.
The drive ends with a two-yard touchdown run from Mark Fletcher Jr.
Update 2:57 p.m.: Jayden Bellamy and Aljiah Clark who missed last week were spotted in uniform participating in warmups. Trebor Pena who left the UConn game early is also dressed and going through warmups. Umari Hatcher is on the sidelines with a leg brace and crutches.
Syracuse (8-3, 4-3 ACC) takes on No. 6 Miami (10-1, 6-1) in one of the most anticipated season finales in recent Syracuse football history.
Saturday marks the first time a top team plays inside the JMA Wireless Dome since 2019.
Syracuse is coming off a close 31-24 win over UConn where the offense performed at maybe the highest level it has all season.
Kyle McCord set the school’s single-season passing record and finished the game with 470 passing yards and two touchdowns. Three Syracuse pass catchers had over 100 yards, with Darrell Gill Jr. leading the way with 177 yards. Jackson Meeks and Oronde Gadsden II added 110 and 103 yards, respectively.
In a game where the offense was clicking on all cylinders, the defense couldn’t quite put the game away, but the defense did hold a UConn rushing attack that came into the game averaging over 200 yards a game to 124 yards.
This week, the team will be tasked with containing one of the best quarterbacks in the country, Cam Ward.
The Hurricanes’ quarterback is second in the country in passing yards behind only McCord and is a projected first-round draft pick.
In Miami’s 42-14 win against Wake Forest last week, Ward threw for 280 yards, two touchdowns and one interception, and added one rushing score. For the season, he has 3,774 passing yards and 34 passing touchdowns with seven interceptions.
The Orange will be looking to play spoiler on Saturday as a win would give Miami a spot in the ACC Championship Game against SMU.
